Hi, I am starting Xeljanz soon (bloods being checked etc). While looking online like we all do I came across this website offering it in a topical. I like many Alopecians are vulnerable to a scam,…Continue

I just joined the group after being in a bit of denial. I have had 3 episodes of AA - my first at 22, second at 26 and now at 34. I was very lucky the first few times and recovered in 6 months back…Continue

"I do use transferwise and I also have paid via my bank here in Australia. Once you set up the account info both are straightforward, so the first payment tends to be the most tricky as you figure out currency and put in the rather odd bank details…"

"I have full regrowth. It took about 4/5 months to get started and I needed the 20mg dose plus a steroid pulse but once I started growing I got full growth about 3/4 months later. My hair now is thicker than pre-alopecia and curly, whereas before it…"

"Hi Am, I am on Beacon meds at the moment but have tried a number of different Bangladesh generics. Beacon is the easiest to buy remotely though. Currently on 16mgs a day, will drop to 10 I. The next few months. At around 4 months into my journey I…"

"I’m a lot like you Brock, I feel better on the meds than off, not just cause I have hair. I used to, even before I got alopecia, get nausea daily, had a lot of tests which didn’t point to anything, but as soon as I started immune…"

"Hi Cassidyman, sorry for late reply. Yes my growth had a few periods where I felt it wasn’t progressing at the same rate. I had, in particular , two spots that seemed to take ages to fill in and I ended up getting steriod shots to speed up the…"

"Joja101- this could be a sign of new growth. Xeljanz takes longer than a week to work so I’d be surprised if it’s connected. But part of the craziness of alopecia is that sometimes a big shed happens before you see growth. Basically the…"

"Hi Meedo, they seem to put Tofacitinib in the biologics category - which means between 2-4 weeks after the vaccine you can go onto the meds. See how you feel, I’d probably just wait that extra week until 3 weeks and than start. Much better to…"

Frida Rupert replied to AlopeciaDestroyedMyLife's discussion Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial
"Hi Cassidymain. I had a shed about 7/8 months after getting full regrowth. It was very minor and I only noticed it because I had been losing absolutely no hair at all (I checked each time I brushed) to have a few hairs come out each time I…"

Frida Rupert replied to AlopeciaDestroyedMyLife's discussion Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial
"it is quite varied - from 1 month up until 7 or 8 months. I took 5 months to get any growth and then by 8 months I had it all back. I think patience with xeljanz is important- some people see growth almost immediately but don’t get full growth…"

"Oh Mashloum, I’m sorry about this set back. Hopefully it settles soon. I think finding a smooth dose is more difficult for kids as their metabolism is changing and hormones are up and down. The good news is the shed has reduced so it seems to…"

Frida Rupert replied to AlopeciaDestroyedMyLife's discussion Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial
"Hi Meedo, my advice is shingles yes- as you need to be off xeljanz to get it, but you can have a flu shot on xeljanz (it’s not a live vaccine) so you can make that decision when you are comfortable with it. Once you start x you don’t…"
