- Im almost 12 years old and i had alopecia when i was 3-ish and we put on cream and it went away.6 years later once again i was diagnosed with alopecia areata...the creams worked but my hair kept falling out so we accepted it and i just wore hats for a while.Then i went to The Mayo Clinic,but they didnt help AT ALL!!!! So now,we almost decided to get a freadom wig (maybe) so im going to check the place out as soon as my mom can drive (she recently had an operation on her leg..ouch!)
