Debbi Fuller replied to femmemuscle's discussion I learned more from this site than I did from a "qualified physician"
"They don't know everything.  Some are truly honest and will tell you the truth about alopecia and that there is no CURE, only treatments that all have side effects.  Those of us who have been dealing with it for the past 20 to 40 or…"

Debbi Fuller replied to Maudy NL's discussion Do you sometimes feel like a social worker too?
"LOL! My husband says that I should get a 900#!! I spend so much time on the phone "counseling" people! I don't mind. I've been there and done that and if I can help someone skip over a few of the hurdles of having AU or AA then…"

Coffee-Mate Commercial Features Bald Woman

"Gloria, it felt it was VERY realistic. I know a lot of men who would react the exact same way. I also have known a lot of women who have chosen to not wear wigs when they lost their hair to chemo. People accept what you present them with. If she…"

Coffee-Mate Commercial Features Bald Woman

"Susan, I hope she didn't break up with him because she felt insecure about her alopecia - that would be sad.  I love that your son is still emotional about it though and I hope he finds happiness, if not with her, then with another nice…"

Alopecia and plastic surgery

OK, I just found another good reason to have AU. I had a little "tuck" done on my face and my doctor said that he wished that everyone had alopecia! He didn't have to try and hide stitches in my non-existent hair line!!

Just read your dating advice! Wow...so helpful, so insightful and wise. I am recently single and very stressed about starting a new relationship and a new guy discovering my wig situation. I completely agree that if hes worth it hell understand and accept it blah blah but that doesnt change that its an incredibly crap and awkward situation for both us and the guy. But thanks again Debbie. Ill def be using your advice.

Hi Debbi, I hear that you ride a Harley. Do you wear a helmet if so do you were a wig underneath or just a scarf. I'm new to the alopecia thing and trying to figure out what to do this summer.

Thanks
Michele

Hi Debbi,
Thank you for being so supportive. It was actually really beautiful out. In the low 60s high 50's and sunny, felt like fall.Tomorrow should be a little colder. Have fun in DC :)
