- I went to art school and live near the city. I love dogs, I cant have one at my apartment right now but can't wait till I can get one but I have a chinchilla named Eavie. I have had alopecia totalis for 6 years. The first few years were so hard for me but now that I have graduated college, I feel much more comfortable in my skin since I am working now and enjoy my position. My older sister started the first alopecia support group in the state of NJ about three years ago. I love her so much for this, as she has been one of the most supportive people in my life. I only went to a few meetings and don't go at all anymore because I have moved on in a lot of ways, but I do like the support of just knowing and being in contact with others with AT such as those involved with this site. That is so great to have!!! My boyfriend is also another, like my sister, who has been enormously supportive. He knew about my alopecia before we even started dating and I feel so lucky that I have such an amazingly supportive boyfriend who always makes me feel beautiful. I am happy I found this site, everyone is so amazing and I am excited to meet new people!! :o)
