- Hi,
I'm 66 years young, single and with 3 grown kids, and 9 grand-kids. I work during the day from 9am to 1pm. My job title is: File Clerk which is at the Dept of Social Services. I love the job. I'm with Dept of Aging. They found me this training. Yes training. I have to find a full time job with this program. Well, I lost all of my hair in the year 1973 or 74. Had a skin graft to tell me that they were sleeping. So I'll let you know more later.

I pretty much am wilting away, I hardly eat cause my stomach stays in knots, my face is breaking out from stress and I cry all day which is hard because I have 3 kids that I have to take care of. I'm definitely as depressed as one can get and I would give anything to have my old life back...when things were normal and I wasn't afraid to get in the shhower and wash my hair. I'm on a wig hunt now, trying to find something I'm at least ok with, but I know I want real hair also. I have always been a strong person but this is just something I can't handle, I have tried but instead of getting better I get worse. It's hurts so bad to know that I'm only 31 and I have to live the rest of my life in misery...I just hope I don't live long =( sorry it took so long to get back to u but I have been an emotional wreck lately and it gets worse everyday. I hope that u are doing better than me and I too hope for a cure although I don't think there will be....it's just not that serious to researchers I think.

- To find a support group near you, go to www.naaf.org. They have lists of support groups by cities. Also, I think they give you information on how to start your own.

- I know, it is a hassle to buy wigs, but in the long run they are cheaper than getting your own hair cut, colored and styled every three or four weeks!
For synthetics, I wear Brandi by Rene of Paris. I cut bangs and length. I get those on www.wigsalon.com. There are a lot of different price points and styles on that web site and the prices are good. Sometimes they have special sales, too.

- Hi Joyce...I saw you in chat earlier...hope you have a nice Mother's Day..and the 3 kids give you hugs not to mention the grandkids. I have AA too and feel like I'm on the beginning of the Big Time with it as all the hair hasn't fallen out at once. But feel it will happen someday..hang in there..count the little blessings along the way. ciao!
