About Me:
I have just been diagnosed with alopecia about 8/9 months ago, I have 3 HUGE bald spots on top of my head.....I am having a hard time coping, because i worry about how i will be able to find a decent job looking like this! I currently wear a hat ALL the time, and havent had the money to buy any wigs or hair pieces yet...and worry worry worry who will hire me like this?? what do I do? I have no support groups nearby, and currently know noone else with this disease....I am here to get and give support...and to help me cope with this WEIRD disease.......so glad this site was revealed to me....i dont know what else to say xcept....lookin forward to getting to know al of you...G.

well I have had alopecia for about 8 months now...the 3 giant patches on top of my head are growing back...you can just call me 'spike'......... but I have now lost about 4 or more inches on the back of my neck and its still going up!!!!! as soon as I figure out all the ins and outs of A-world I will post some pics ..

I know what you mean! It's ridiculous to have to pay that much. If you go to www.wigsalon.com they have a lot of good wigs for less than that. They also have sales going on. The wig I'm wearing in this photo I bought from them and it was only about $100. It's Rene of Paris. Also if you go to Beauty Trends online or get a catalog, they have some nice ones (you have to sift through the boring ones). Lots are less than $100. Let me know what you find.

I know exactly what you are going through, watching the spots get bigger and bigger. There are inexpensive wigs available. What is your budget? I may be able to help you find some.

hi gina! i read your story and fully understand your concern. i ve de same problem too. I went for job interviews and was turn down by them. Dunno if its related to AA. but i stay in malaysia, mayb its different in US

Hi Gina! Thanks for adding me. :) I was just diagnosed at the beginning of May, so I know what you are going through. This website is SO helpful though and everyone is SO nice. I think it will really help you like it has helped me. It's so nice to know that you have 900 folks with Alopecia right there for you if you have any questions. Stay strong. I know it's very hard in the beginning. Where are you located? I may know some resources that can help. I do know that NAAF has a fund to assist people with wigs. check out the site. naaf.org
