Thanks, Emma. The picture I have on Alopecia World doesn't show the "new me". It was taken the day I shaved my head, and still had my eyebrows and eyelashes. The permanent makeup brows are nice, but they're thinner and shaped a little differently. I'm so used to the new look now that "before" pictures don't look right! I'm getting more and more used to going bald. I'll post an up-dated photo soon.
I lived in Norwich for a year and still have good friends in the UK. I don't know where Kilmarnock is, though. Nice to hear from another bald musician! I play drums in a couple of Balkan bands. Though I teach a dance class bald, I haven't yet performed with a band without head covering...some day!
That was the scary part over with now it is the real me. I would never have had the courage to take this photo if it hadn't been for all the support i know there is so this is what i really look like.
Hi Emma,
Couldn't help noticing your note to Shawna asking about eyebrows. I drew them on for 34yrs. You get very good at it after a while, but the pencil marks melt when its hot, rubs off if you lay down, doesn't match your skin tone if the brand you buy changes their colors, and one day, I went to yoga only wearing one, cause I forgot to check! The next day, I found an aestheticism and had them tattooed. Its costly, I was given a great deal at $320, can cost up to $500, but worth every single dollar. It took 3 times, and lasts up to 5 yrs, depending on how much sun you get. I didn't even find it painful. It freed me from the eyebrow blues, and never will I ever show up at yoga with only one! I highly recommend it, but find a shop who has a good reputation, and willing to show you their work.

Hi Emma, we just started the site in March, so unfortunately for a lot of us this site was not available when we all may have needed it most. But either way, in God timing we find what we need when we need it... I am glad you are here! Keep in touch.
Hi Emma,
Thanx for the vote of confidence on the wig...she's human hair but not very good quality (it's obviously very processed hair) with a monofilament top.
And yes, I've been thinking I should sleep in a bandana or something on camp, but how do you get comfortable with the knots - I find they get in the way!
