Found out I had alopecia in November 2007 and according to friends and family i have coped very well (if only they knew). Anyway I have accepted that its unlikely i will have hair all over my head again but hey i can have a different hair style/colour every day if I like.

Yes

Next round of the staple gun

Hi everyone,
I am about to go for my third time with the 'staple gun' oh ok its the steroids in my head but it feels like a staple gun. I have a little regrowth and I wonder if it is worth the pain, but I know that if I dont try it I will regret it. It seems like the procedure in the UK it way behind the US and it annoys me a little. Maybe if we had no NHS then it might be easier but hey ho who am I to say anything.
I love getting all the e-mails from the site that offer jobs, opportunities and the like but wish that the UK had the same network of felow sufferers. Dont get me wrong there are website which are UK based but so many of the people seem to be so negative. I really would like to do more for my fellow sufferers so it there is anyone out there that can offer any suggestions let me know. I feel like I have reached a crossroads in my life and I want to take action but have no idea where to start.
Help!!!

Hey Val
Yeah I too want the Vacuum Wig if all me hair falls out this time. Right now I have Patchy AA. The last time my hair fell out I lost about 50% and I shaved my head and wore a wig for a while until it grew back. I was getting the injections in my scalp but they aren't working anymore so I guess when it gets worse I'll shave it again. That's why I'm in the process of getting a new wig. I donated the other one I really didn't like it and it was a real hair wig, but it was different then the Vacuum pieces becasue the hair was corse and must have been processed.
I have a web site you can look into that sells vacuum wigs its www.newlifehair.com not sure where in you area you would go but at least you can look into the pic;s and info. Hey maybe she can give you a numberr of someone out by you.
good luch and great to meet you.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm headed out in the new few days to get a wig and am already looking at another from the Rene of Paris line it seems to be a really popular brand. Thank you again I'll let you know what i end up with.

Ive been having steroid injections in my head (boy do they hurt) anyway last week I went for the second round and the nurse commented on the amount of re-growth I had since she last saw me. Oh joy I thought but after turning that corner I awoke this morning to find Im losing it from the other side of my head. Turned a corner and feel like I have walked smack bang into a brick wall. Oh boy this condition is sooo cruel. :o(

Hi Val,
I know, a wig can be really uncomfortable in hot weather! I've resisted the impulse to take my hair off in public, for about 30 years!
I just wanted to say hello and see how you are doing.

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie on here, please be gentle. I love to hear how other people are coping with their hair loss. I seem to be ok most of the time and love the choice in wigs but when its really warm weather (rare here in the UK) I long to have the guts to whip off the wig and be bald an proud. Maybe one day :)
