Today, I just went to the Hair Club. The lady said that she never had a customer with so much hair. Well, they started to put the system on. I asked if they could use maybe the tape, just in case I didn't like it, it could be easily taken off. Well she pulled up my hair and glued the system on the perimeter of my head. It felt like this tape was pulling my hair out. She started to pull my hair through this system and OUCH!! It kept getting tangled and it felt like my hair was being pulled out. The holes on this integration system were about the size of an eraser top (maybe too small) . I thought that they would be bigger. So after her trying to pull my hair through the cap or system for an hour, I asked her to stop and take it off. It was just to painful. Maybe I do have too much hair at this time. I hated that it didn't work out because I was hoping this was my solution but it was too painful. Does anyone know of any other options? I wonder if the holes in the integration was just too small and is there another way to attach this system? Also, it had taken her an hour to pull some of my hair through the cap and she still was not done. Does this typically take this long? Are integrations more trouble than they are worth?

I am sorry you did not have a good experience. Please don't let this get you down. I am sure you will find something that works for you. I will add, that my 6 yr old wears a wig from the hair club and she really likes it and the maintenance is easy. She tapes it on over the regrowth she is having with no problems. I wanted you to know how easy the cap is to wear in case you need it another time. Cindy

Sorry this didn't work out for you. Have you ever visited the websites womenshairlossproject.com or heralopecia.com? I really like alopeciaworld more, but these other websites have more women with pattern loss vs. AA, AT or AU and they may have more suggestions. Just a thought. As for me, I'm trying to ignore the hair problem and just live. When I can't ignore (conceal) it, then I'll do something about it. Hope you find a solution that works and let me know how it goes.

Hi Dawn; Your type of hair loss may be better served by using a cosmetic hair thickener such as powders like Toppik or sprays like Volluma (which I distribute). I apologize for the plug but those types of cosmetics work very well on sparse hair. As Laurie suggested, the womenshairlossproect.com can give you some perspective on those types of cosmetics for thinning hair.
Referring to your previous post about your use of Rogaine - my understanding is that any hair that you regain or, stop losing, when using Rogaine will subsequently fall out after you stop using it which might explain your experience with shedding. If Rogaine works for you, you might consider staying on it for the long term. Cosmetics may enhance the effect of any regrowth you experience. Best of luck!
