- I started losing my hair about 6 years ago. It started just before my third heart surgery. The dermatologist diagnosed it as telogen effluvium. It was very scary at first but I have learned to accept it and not let it control my life. I have been very blessed with a surportive family and friends. I really look forward to meeting everyone.
I am currently trying to find a solution that is both comfortable and affordable.

Negative feedback on wig

I got a new and first wig and wore it for the first day in public and at church. Most people didn't say anything but kind of looked at me a little differently. A lady at my church made the comment "you're wearing a wig" after someone asked who did my hair. I about broke down at church. I then explained to them that my hair had been falling out since my 3rd heart surgery and I had lost alot of it this week. I am not sure if I will be able to make it back to my church again. I Did It!!!!

I got my first wig and I love it!!! The lady I got it from also did the cut in. It was really nice as she has alopecia herself and is a hairdresser. I look like I did 6 years ago before the hairloss started. I haven't really worn it out yet. I plan on wearing it out tomorrow. I am a little nervous as what to say to people at church when they ask. Any suggestions? I was thinking about saying I got it colored and got some extensions. I will post some pictures soon!!!
My Hair Club Experience

Today, I just went to the Hair Club. The lady said that she never had a customer with so much hair. Well, they started to put the system on. I asked if they could use maybe the tape, just in case I didn't like it, it could be easily taken off. Well she pulled up my hair and glued the system on the perimeter of my head. It felt like this tape was pulling my hair out. She started to pull my hair through this system and OUCH!! It kept getting tangled and it felt like my hair was being pulled out.… Continue

Okay, I stopped shedding for almost 3 weeks but I started shedding heavily recently. I thought that maybe the Rogaine I was using had helped so I started back but now I am shedding again. Maybe it is a result of when I stopped recently or starting back the Rogaine. When I first started using it I seemed to shed alot heavier. So maybe this will take a little time. My scalp and body has been also itching like crazy lately that is when I noticed the shedding coming back. I wonder if it is related.… Continue

Okay, I am not going to get my hopes all up but my hair has not shedded for 1 1/2 weeks. This is the first time it has stopped shedding for this long. (6 years since it began) I was using Rogaine about 2 months ago and I wonder if I am now seeing the results. I have used it in the past and I didn't really notice a difference so I am not positive it is the Rogaine. I started back using again just in case. Well, I have some body glue that works great if I know it's really windy or I think I may be doing something that could cause my wig to flip. That has never happened to me though... and my wig has never come off because of wind even when I didn't use glue and I should have. I'm kind of a natural girl. I don't put any wig caps under my wig or anything like that. It's just too bulky. I just make sure I get a wig that is small enough for my head. That is pretty hard becaus my head is soooo small. I posted to your blog about negative feedback.
