Hi i am 19 years old and about 8 months ago i found out i had alopecia areata. It started off as one patch that grew back and now i have 5 or 6 big ones dotted round my head. i feel very alone and feel no one know what im going threw around me so find it very hard to talk to them as they dont understand i would really just like some advice on what works and what doesnt and just people who know how i feel really.

I have been looking into the specialist hair extensions you can get just to cover it up so i feel a bit better about it but not sure if they will make it worse or not have tried looking on the internet but cant seem to find the information i need. There are a lot of people from the UK on this site, so just click on members and scroll down to find some to "friend." I have heard extensions MAY pull out more hair. Have you considered some hot synthetic wigs? Raquel Welch makes good ones. I get layered, with darker roots, to make them look more natural.
