About Me:
Hi. I experienced my first episode of acute hairloss at the age of 15, it lasted for 2 years. I never regained this hair.In my twenties, I also experienced a few episodes of hairloss linked to exam stress, dieting, emotional stress. At this stage my hair had thined considerably, but because I had so much hair as a young teenager, it probably wasnt obvious to a lot of people. Two years ago at the age of 37, I experienced another episode of hairloss lasting 8 months or so, episode really thinned my hair out to a very distressing level. One morning last april, I woke up to what felt like a sunburnt scalp. The scorching itching sensation was unbearable within a week i was losing like 500 hairs per day, the pain and loss has somewhat subsided, but I continue to loss hair, At this stage I have a bald patch just off my central parting on the top of my head. Obviously, I will need a wig soon.
Dermatologists feel that I have a combination of FPB & CT. I havent had any biopsy to confirm this.
I feel as if my entire life has been dominated my hairloss & that I have wasted so much precious time in dispair. XXXB

Hi Barb

No I did not! I know a lot of women on another hair loss site who complain about it. I think that it seems to be more prevalent when hair loss is very active - my pain was at its worst when my hair was literally pouring off my head. I still shed now, but not in those numbers. Some people with AA complain also of scalp pain and strange sensations.
