my granddaughter wears a vacuum wig, she can go swimming wearing her wig, all different sports go out in a hurricane and it wont come off. It cant beat your own hair, but its the next best thing.

- I'm a 17 yr old female in Syracuse, NY trying to find ways to cope with Alopecia Aretea Totalis.. I started with this disease around 4 yrs old. Then it returned when I was in junior high school. My hair returned a year later and just recently in the past year it had returned and I've been using wigs ever since. But now I'm trying to look for other solutions because I can no longer handle going through with the treatments (PUVA).
