Alopecia and pregnancy

Hello Everyone,Has anyone else heard that women's hair can come back during pregnancy? I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and am still very much bald. Not that I have a problem with remaining bald...I am just curious if other Alopecians have experienced regrowth or complete stasis during pregnancy. Also, FYI, my geneticist told me that I have a 20% chance of passing Alopecia onto a child. Are there any other Alopecians out there who have heard similar estimates? My husband and I are both bald…See More

Celebrating 14 years of acceptance

Posted on September 11, 2010 at 11:30am 0 Comments

Fourteen years ago this Fall I shaved what was left of my hair and went out to dinner with two of my closest friends. It was a chilly night to be walking outside bald, but I didn't notice the cold. I felt so anxious to be seen in public for the first time without my hair that I couldn't think about much else. Fourteen years later, I still have Alopecia Areata and a bald head. I am happily married to a bald man (male pattern) and don't think as much about my hair. I am proud that I have the… Continue

Hi Lynn

Thanks for the welcome. What beautiful wedding photos - congratulations! I hope you have a long and happy life together.
Doesn't singing give you the best buzz? I've sung in choirs before and when you get the sound right it's fantastic. At the moment my musical society is rehearsing for the annual Christmas pantomime. I'm not on stage this year but my daughter is - I think i'm prompting which is fine. I've done it before and the cast is so experienced I just get to watch the show and sing along every night with no worries about anyone forgetting lines. Really looking forward to our spring show though, Disney's Beauty and the Beast - just released for amateurs - rehearsals start in the new year and I can't wait.

Take care
