- I am a 27 yr old female from the Boston area of MA. About 8 months ago , I woke up and noticed my hair just started falling out in handfuls. It completely took me by surprise. Recently, I have been losing hair all over the rest of my body ... it's quite painful hair loss. My skin is very sore, a burning/tingling feeling. I have been to doctor after doctor and they say it's Stress alopecia or Telogen Effluvium. However, I truly believe they are wrong. At this point, I just want a diagnoses and I will take things one day at a time. I have found everyone on alopecia world to be so comforting and supportive!
