New wig! :)

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 9:00pm 4 Comments

Got my new wig today and excited about wearing it. I know that co workers will be like ...OK, but heck with it LOL ! There is also a guy in the office I had a romantic interest in, but if he can't deal with it and this makes me lose a chance with him oh well ! Sometimes in life we have to make the most of a situation we can. When I was in my 20's and had hair I often had a difficult time styling it and caring for it. Now that I wear wigs I don't have to worry as much about that and I can easily… Continue

Excited

First of all I am a black woman, which makes wig buying a little less uncomfortable than my sisters of other descent, and I found a really cool wig that can be curled and comes pre bumped. I got a short length because my sister suggested it but decided to order a longer length because that is what I am more comfortable with. It is the Sensationnel Bump Human hair wig. My hair (or lack of it LOL) does bother me sometimes and I really hate wearing a wig but at least with a wig I can style I feel… Continue

Hey everyone! :)

Hi - I was actually looking for exercise caps when I found this website. I have been dealing with baldness for the past 10 years. My hair got excessively thin when I was in my mid 20's. It has been pretty rough having to wear wigs. I went to see a doctor but he just shrugged it off as hereditary baldness. My paternal grandmother has excessively thin hair and I look like my late father with regards to my balding. My ex husband accepted it and I have had a couple of boyfriends that accepted it… Continue

Hi Chellie!
I have scarring alopecia which means slow, permanent loss of my hair. In one respect I don't think it is as emotionally devastating as an abrupt loss of hair...but the fact that there's no getting back what is lost EVER (due to the follicle being scarred) is a different heavy emotion to deal with. Sigh. My Mom had rheumatoid arthritis and lived with pain all her adult life...I'm not in pain. I can move, and dance. I remind myself of this every time I want to dwell too long in a pity party. Which is not to say we don't all need a little "poor me!" time...We need to acknowledge the reality and admit IT SUCKS! but then look forward, love life, and move forward. We are much more than our physical appearance! Peace and Joy! cs
