About Me:: Have had alopecia areata since I was 12 - but at the age of 31 found myself completely bald - I am now 40 and a mother of 3, I run the QLD Australia support group - I never wear a wig - bald and bearing it!! here is a photo of me with my middle child - I am lucky I am told I have a good shaped head... I love to chat so please feel free to write to me - I deal with many people with alopecia!

Perhaps a year to re-think how we think of ourselves with ALOPECIA..... not losing hair.... just GAINING FACE....

I want to share with you that I am grateful (possibly a strange choice of words for some of you) for the fact that I have alopecia.. it's really made me see what's important in my life..... Just finished watching the videos on the website - thank you for putting these on.... I too was caught off guard for this very candid and honest account of Gail's experience with Alopecia. I guess 8 years on for me and watching someone else dealing with the "process" nearly reduced me to tears on a number of occassions - however it also showed me how far I have come. Thank you all for your warm wishes regarding my birthday... the big 40 seems fine so far!!!!
Only one problem I have no hair to hide my wrinkles - :-)))))))

I wish that he had your attitude Angela. I know that with maturity he will come to accept and get on with his life. We just have to cope with things until then i guess. All the time trying to encourage him to 'get out there' and experience life to the full. That is not easy though.
