"@Jules Australia and others please help me understand; if I understood you correctly some patients can have only FFA, and some have LPP FFA? Isn't FFA one possible variant of LPP, implying that anyone who has FFA has also LPP?"
"I've learned yesterday that my sunblocker contains titanium dioxide (TiO2), I used it the last summer abbundantly. Titanium dioxide is been frequently linked to FFA so if you use sunblockers be sure to check the ingredients with the…"
"Please I need advice about Protopic ointment; do I apply it only on eyebrows and the outer hairline, or to the entire scalp? Do I wash it off after some time or I have to leave it on?
About Elidel cream, does it really help to regrow eyebrows?"
"Adie503 I think as you do; it has to be gut related; I have celiac disease, and more than 15 years of serious problems related to gluten consumption. In my case, everything started with celiac disease which unfortunately was undiagnosed for 15 years…"
"Anonymous NAC and L-Tyrosine are to be taken with vitamin D3 (according to IAT). Unfortunately I don't know for how long neither how much of vitamin D3 exactly should be taken, but I'll give it a try."
"In my research about this disease I came across an interesting fact; other than viruses which can trigger Lichen (hpv and herpes virus), it seems that allergy or sensitivity to metal dental and other implants or fillers can be a big risk factor for…"
"Dear CarolJ I'm sorry I missed your comment (I don't get notifications); I suffer from celiac disease, unfortunately I have leaky gut. I tried with probiotics and also gluten free diet but FFA still progresses, it hasn't…"
I'm 44, I live in Croatia, Zagreb. Last year I began loosing my eyebrows and the hair above my forehead started to fall also but the doctors suggested it was caused by my Hashimoto and Celiac disease. Half a year later I had a missed period and after that a prolonged one, but apart from that my cycles were normal and the gynecologist didn't want to put me on HRT. I have very fair skin prone to sunburn so I abundantly used sunblockers (100 or 50+) on my face from february till november for 10 years, following the suggestion of the dermatologist(due to severe melasmas) and sunscreens (30+) for my body.I colored my hair only twice; I had problems with dandruff and itching and the dermatologists wrongly cured me for seborroic dermatitis, the therapy never helped me. Eight years ago I developed severe rosacea which was never really cured. Two days ago I got my biopsy result; Lichen planopilaris FFA. In Croatia we don't have specialised trichologysts, and no one knows what to do with me. The dermatologist who performed the biopsy prescribed Plaquenil which I refused because of the risk of serious eye damage. After refusing the therapy I was left with no therapy, although there are at least 10 possible approaches to the illness. Due to three autoimmune diseases I performed the tissue tipisation test and found out I had the HLADQB1*03 associated with Lichen planopilaris. Now I'm trying the International Association of Trichologysts suggestion as a possible cure (L-tyrosine + NAC + vitamin D3) - has anyone tried it, maybe? The only thing that helps me with the intense itching is coconut virgin oil + tea tree oil massaged on my scalp. I would like to know what do you others use or suggest, coconut oil is marvellous but difficult to wash off the hair...
