Relationship Status:

About Me:
Training to be a chartered accountant.

Whilst in my second year of university, my hair fell out so much that I just couldn't hide the patches any more so I shaved my head and started to wear a wig full time just before I started my year in industry. On my placement, I had multiple hair change styles, and had many amusing comments such as "wow, you have the worlds shiniest hair" and "Your hair always looks so nice, where did you get it done?" In the end I sent an email round to everyone telling them that I wore a wig because I was getting so many questions about how it changed every few months!

I like to keep busy by seeing friends, running and going to the gym!! I also love singing, there is a link to my MySpace music profile on here somewhere. I'm a fun-loving and outgoing person who is always up for a laugh and has never worried about having alopecia.
Do you have alopecia?
Alopecia areata
Are you age 18 or older?

Lucy - I saw your post on alice's blog about compliments on your wigs and I just wanted to ask you, when someone compliments your hair do you tell them that it is a wig or just thank them? I am going to be getting my first wig soon and I was just curious how to deal with questions or compliments on my hair(hopefully I would have some).

Hey! Well I haven't really got a proper job yet...I'm still just dossing around Europe teaching English! Trying to put off being a proper adult for a while haha. I'm thinking of moving to London in September though, but depends on the money situation! How is uni? I miss being a student!! xx

Yeah doing your hair is always what made me feel like i'd made a big effort to get ready to go out. Although i'm enjoying my synthetic wig at the mo because i got so sick of getting up every morning before work to wash it and cover up the bald patches. Just popping on my hair and going out is a bit of a novelty at the mo.
I live in Birmingham.. have lived here all my life and never managed to escape. Just working at the mo. How about yourself?

Take care, Melinda :-) x
