About Me:
I had the thickest hair of anyone i knew. Life has been stressful. My parents both passed away recently. I have three young kids and a husband who will never understand what i am going through. Spots like a leopard can make me feel down. Trying so hard to keep my faith that this, like a bad dream, will pass. If it were only 3,500 years ago in Egypt, it would be okay, I'd be wearing my crown! lol.

Hi Erica, nice to meet you. Mine actually started on my face in march or so, lost about half of my facial hair. At the same time i had accidentally cut my side burn to short. the side burn never grew back and I lost a bunch of hair up over my ear. People just thought I was an Idiot the messed up cutting my own hair i think. I started noticing alot of hair coming out in the shower and stuff, also if i pulled on it it came right out. Anyway, started getting patches all over, hence, my new nick name "patches". My hair was pretty long so most of my patches were hidden until i shaved it. I was really surprised at how much I lost in the back, I had no idea until i shaved it how bad it was. As for doctors I went to a derm in Newton and then one in weston. they basically said there was nothing they could do ( except for steroid shots and cream) and I would have to just ride it out.
I have definitely heard of angry Hill, don't know them personally though

Hello and welcome, Erica!
I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. Let me know if you need help or support. One thing that you might be interested in is my book, written for women, called "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" (It just won two national awards!) It has helped a lot of women! There is lot of good info in it, it can answer many questions, and it's a fun read, too. You can find out more on my page. It's available on Amazon.com. Let me know if there's anything else I can do! I am here to help.
