Can anyone out there recommend a short natural synthetic wig that has a monofilament top? If you are like me, you have probably purchased more wigs that you don't like than those that you do. I am just beside myself as to shopping online and trying to decide what would work best for me. I have some wigs that I have never worn that I would be more than willing to sell at a very low price if anybody would be interested in buying. Just let me know.

I only buy what I can try on, see in a mirror all ways with and without my glasses on, and can see out in the sun for shine/naturalness/color before I buy.

Thanks Leonore--where did you purchase your custom, lace one? TG, I don't blame you for buying what you try on, but sometimes I try them on in wig stores, purchase them, and then get home and still don't like them.

What i suggest is to always go real hair. I know its not cheap, but its 100000x better. It breaths better, it feels nicer and you have a lot more choice. I know its daunting to go into a shop and take your hair off to try on a new wig but Tallgirl is right, you need to try before you buy. Or even have one made... pick a color and a length ad then find a stylest that you trust and have her cut it... my current wig i cut myself (with help from my boyfriend) and i love it.

Thanks for your input, Kate. I actually found a website GalleryofWigs.com that I was really impressed by their knowledge of wigs. I talked to Kathy and you can actually mail her some pictures of you and she can tell you what wig would look good on you and what color. They are very affordable. I ordered 2 monofilaments today where I spent less than I did for 1 monofilament here. Since I live in NC, the humidity is horrible. Human hair to me would not be an option in the summer because of the humidity. I have never been really good at styling hair even when I had hair to style. If that is a wig in your profile, it is absolutely stunning.

Kate, it's beautiful and no one would ever know it is a wig. The website I mentioned also has human hair wigs too if you wanted to purchase something to just wear around the house and save your expensive one when you go out.

Kathy at Gallery of Wigs is wonderful!! That is where I buy all of mine. She has great prices. Much better than in a wig shop. I ordered the High Society by Gabor. It is about chin length, mono top and lace front. I also live in humidity so I need something that can withstand that. I don't have the time/energy for the maintainence/styling of a human hair wig so I love the synthetic. I would suggest you join wigsupport.com. Women posts pictures and reviews of wigs. You can search mono and see what comes up. You can also post that you are selling a wig on that website, and people can send you a private message. I've only had one mono top wig before but it was shoulder length. We will see how I like the High Society.

Thanks, Alliegator, Kathy is wonderful. I followed your suggestions and joined wigsupport.com Thanks so much for this suggestion. I just wish I would have known about Gallery of Wigs long ago. She suggested the Tova and the Ruby for me. I hope you like the High Society by Gabor. I own 3 Gabors in the Gala, brown, red, and blonde. The only thing I don't like is they are not a mono wig. I don't think I will ever purchase another one unless it is mono. They are just so much more real looking in my opinion.

Thanks, Rose. I hope the Ruby won't have too much hair. Did you have yours professionally thinned? I will look at the ones you have mentioned--thanks so much!

Rose, don't worry about what you said about Ruby; I appreciate your honesty. I gave an Erin away in the Marble Brown (monofilament) and it was too dark for me. It cost me over $300, but my friend who was taking chemo loved it so I'm glad I could give it to her.
