I have been experiencing a lot of thigling and itchy sensations all over my head. Does this happen to anyone too? Is this linked to alopecia or is it something different? I am scared to scratch my head because I feel like I am going to make more hair fall out. I heard that there is a type of alopecia where the hair folicule gets completely damaged and the hair will never grow back. I am still learning about this so I dont really know what is going on.

Also, thank you to those who have posted on my other blog. It is really nice to know that there are people out there just like me.

Hi Julie!
I've been to several doctors because I've also had scalp itching and tingling on top of my hair loss. One of them said it is sebborheic dermatitis, which supposedly doesn't make you're hair fall out (although some doctors believe it can). On Tuesday I'm going for a scalp biopsy because another doctor thinks it might be an inflammation which can definitely cause hair loss. I'll let you know what the test results are. Maybe then you can ask your doctors about what I've just mentioned.
If you examine your scalp, look out for red pimple-like bumps. That could be a sign of something. That's what I have.
Good luck!

I also have occasional tingling and itching. I am laughing write now because it happened just as I read your blog...the power of suggestion? However, in my case it doesn't seem related to the areas of hair loss. However, like you, I'm almost afraid to touch my hair for fear of dislodging it! I know intellectually that's really silly, but I have feelings that are not rooted (no pun intended) in reality.

Hey Julie, with my first patch, i did experience burning sensation, this was around the area i was loosing my hair. After I had lost it, I felt a burning sensation again, over the side of my head, and thought i was about to loose more, but I haven't. So it could be something, it could be nothing, I had it and lost, I did have to talk my self into not scratching and rubbing though! xxxx
