I went through those awful cortisone shots a few months ago. I had two rounds of injections done and also used a topical cream for about 2 weeks. The hair started growing back and just a few weeks ago I noticed that not only is the hair falling out again but the spot got bigger! I am so scared that it is going to be worse this time around. Looking for support

I really hope to find people that I can talk to about alopecia. I am newly diagnosed and I dont know what to expect other than hair loss. Why does it happen? What are the chances of losing all of my hair? If there is anyone out there that is willing to take some time to help me out, I would really appreciate it. I am alone and dont really have anyone that can relate to me.

Tingling and alopecia

I have been experiencing a lot of thigling and itchy sensations all over my head. Does this happen to anyone too? Is this linked to alopecia or is it something different? I am scared to scratch my head because I feel like I am going to make more hair fall out. I heard that there is a type of alopecia where the hair folicule gets completely damaged and the hair will never grow back. I am still learning about this so I dont really know what is going on.

The first time I became aware of my condition was back in July. I was getting my hair cut and my hair dresser leaned over me and wispered, "Did you know that you have a bauld spot?" I almost fell out of my chair. When I looked at it for the first time I was devestated and very confused. I didnt know anything about alopecia. FYI when I first got AA I went to a regular doctor who didnt know what he was doing It took about a month before he reffered me to a dermatolagist who knows all about AA but it took another month just to get in. but depending how your insurance works you might have to see a regular doctor first.
If you have any questions about anything at all I'll try my best to answer them.
