I know the sweetest nine year old girl on this planet (in my opinion)
One of the most unspoiled children I've ever seen in my life.

she's absolutely beautiful, but she has to wear wigs because of Alopecia Areata, Her mom was telling me about how she came home crying from school one day because the children took off her wig on the bus and were running around hiding it from her.
She actually had to go back up to he school, to get the wig back from lost and found.

It's just so wrong, Children shouldn't have to go through that...
I don't have Alopecia, but I'm sixteen and I've had my head shaved since I was 12.

I can't even imagine how horrified she must have been,
What do you think about Children with Alopecia?
The thought absolutely breaks my heart.

Don't you just hate that this happens to young people with this condition. I can't tell you how it makes my blood boil. This sort of thing did happen to Libby but (because she wears a vacuum) they were never able to pull her hair off. Libby was quite open about her alopecia as well. For the immature and unevolved this behaviour is par for the course. It's wrong and despicable. The only way I believe this wee girl and all the wee girls and boys out there can be helped is by using education (with regards to what is appropriate behaviour) and consequences (to help those that continue to think this funny to understand there misdeeds).

Give the wee girl a hug from me and tell her she has no problem, the other little ratbags do though.

That's so horrible. Parents need to be educated about this condition and teach their children some sensitivity
They are NEVER too young to learn kindness.

Yeah definitely, It's just really wrong, How can parent's not teach their kids how to respect other kids?
Ah it just makes me sick.

When my hair fell out for the first time I was 3 or 4 and I remember I used to wear a little pink hat that my mom had knitted for me. Well one day the kids in my class thought it would be funny to rip off my hat and run around with it. I was such a shy and sensitive girl back then and I remember feeling so hurt because I had thought those kids were my friends. Children can be very cruel and its really up to parents and teachers to educate them and show them right from wrong. At least in the end all those experiences made me into a very strong woman today....

Makes my blood boil to read that. I lost my hair at 9yrs, regrowth at 10, out again at 11. At 11 I started
to wear a wig. I also carried a note from my doctor that said I "must wear my wig at all times." I was to
show the note to any nun, teacher or priest or would happen to ask me to remove the wig. Well that never
happened but it did give me some confidence if the situation were arise. For your little girl in question
I would recomend a letter be sent to everyone concerned that they will be held accountable for their
childrens actions and be sued for damages to the little girl and/or the wig.

God bless her heart. I lost all my hair when I was lil'. I was 6 when it first happened and luckily I went to a very small primary, and no one really commented, at least not on that scale, secondary was very different, I remember one boy pulled the elastic of my wig one music lesson and made go all ascu, I was so embarrassed. My heart goes out to this little girl, Keep your head high darling!</> x

What's the name of the School District? School? This is so wrong!
Her parents should take legal action. I know its hard to stop kids from saying things but kids should
not be touching other kids inappropriately. If she was in a wheel chair and kids took her out of it and
set her on the ground as they played with the chair there would be hell to pay! It they took her clothes
off there would be hell to pay! This is unacceptable!
Her civil rights have clearly been violated!
Her parents should contact the ACLU:
ACLU of New Mexico
Executive Director: Peter Simonson
P.O. Box 566
Albuquerque, NM 87103
Phone: 505-266-5915

I'm going to call today (its probably about 4:30AM now).
