About Me:
Elizabeth Mary Anne Russhard. Born 29th November 1990. Alopecian since 1996. Bald since 2009.

Hi :) I'm Liz, I'm a Fine Art student from Nottingham in the UK. I study at Northumbria University in Newcastle, and particularly love, love, love to paint! I'm a big believer in self expression and inner beauty. Be who you want and how you want despite who you are and what you look like. I know we don't live in a very tolerant or particularly loving world, so this can be hard and disheartening, when you are the odd one out in a crowd. But odd is good, odd is beautiful and unique, no one has a map of the world quite like mine on their head :)

Anytime anyone wants a natter, I'm here, with my virtual tea and roaring fire, ready and waiting to delve into the life of a 21st century alopecian!

I like
drinking fruit tea in the bath
doodling random pictures from my head
naming inanimate objects
talking to myself when it is quiet
to turn the radio up loud when I'm on my own
singing in the shower, even though I am no good
Do you have alopecia?
Alopecia areata
Are you age 18 or older?
Yes - I am 18 or older

arthritis at 21!

Hi :) Hope everyone is okay? :)I just wondered if anyone out there has any problems with their joints? Odd question maybe... but let me explain.I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my hands, and I'm only 21. I get sever paint in my wrist and finger joints. The doctors told me this was because I use my hands a lot; I am a painting student, paper maker, musician and I temp part time. Which I thought, fair enough, but I wonder if it's connected to alopecia in some way?Would love any feed back…See More

Finally!
Had enough! Stupid stupid hair, not worth all the stress and getting all depressed, so off with it!

Dramatic I know, but if it makes me feel better about myself.

Take care everyone :) xx

Back to square one :/

I just need a bit of a vent!

I thought my hair was growing so well, not total regrowth, but at a fairly unnoticeable areate stage. But just lately it seems to be falling out everywhere!

I've booked to see a specialist at the hospital, but thats not until December!

I guess I more worried that now I have to tell people all over again, as Ive just moved back to uni, new people, new circumstances.

I don't want to be trapped in the 'hiding it' phase again,… Continue

Take care xxx

Hey all!

Thought I would keep you all updated! I moved into University halls last friday!! Loving it so far! I couldn't have asked for better house mates, really they are so so lovely! A house of 6 students, 3 girls and 3 lads. All studying different subjects, but we get on so well! We have a real nice family vibe, taking it in turn to cook for everyone each day, and the lads are so protective of us 3 girls when we go out!

And NO ONE cares about the 'bald issue'. I have had a… Continue

Hi there fellow bloggers :)

Just thought I would type and tell you of my little happy story for the weekend.

So there I am, stepping off the tram in Nottingham City Centre, Old market square, with my Mum and my Oma. when a man ran up to me and touched my shoulder. for a moment I thought he was going to tell me that I had been a right numpty and left something on the tram, but actually, he said:

" Hi, sorry, you don't know me, but I just wanted to say, that you are really… Continue

Doin' fine, thankiez!!!! Sorry for the late reply, we've been busy with work again... This job is very stressful! how're you doin' with your art studies upgrades in NewCastle? Hope fine! You're very talented, so go for it! Time for me to go back to work, so wish you a great week and a better weekend! Take care Liz! Stay well. Hugz -S-

Well, I'm up in the North-East this weekend visiting a pal in Whitley Bay (weather permitting).... so I'll look out for any sightings of Cardie Girl, righting wrongs wherever they may be found, and drinking bars dry everywhere... should stand out in all the snow!! ;)
And, Congrats once again on entering your 3rd decade. (no need to thank me, ho, ho.) xxx
