I REALLY AM UNSURE IF I AM DOING THE RIGHT THING BY NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT HAYENS ALOPECIA. I HAVE ONLY DONE A STEROID CREAM ON HIS HAD FOR ONE MONTH DAILY, WHICH DID NOT DO ANYTHING. I HAVE HEARD SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS..BUT I AM REALLY CONFUSED. I WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR HIM. BUT I FEEL LIKE I AM NOT TRYING ANYTHING BECAUSE I AM SCARED SOMETHING ELSE WILL COME DUE TO SIDE AFFECTS, ETC. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR WHAT ANY OF YOU HAVE DONE. ADULTS WHO HAVE ALOPECIA...WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD?? I MEAN, I REALLY AM STARTING TO THINK I SHOULD BE TRYING SOMETHING. I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT...I AM SO HAPPY TO BE HERE. I HAVE HEARD A FEW STORES ALREADY AND AM SO GRATEFUL FOR PEOPLES WILLINGNESS TO BE SO OPEN.THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I will be completely honest with you simply because if it were "my child" I would not want to put him through unneccesary treatments. If your sons eyebrows have fallen out, he's AT or AU and unfortunately the outlook for treatment is not good. Many scientists even agree that it may only be coincidence that some treatments "appear" to work. I was visiting with another group I post on from time to time and recently there has been a lot of discussion about this African cure. People will go to quite the extent to try and treat themselves. I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news and I certainly don't want to discourage you but the best thing for your son would be to try and live with it. He's adorable anyways without hair! If he's embarrased by it get him a wig but he'll pick up on how everyone around him is acting so you're going to have to be strong as well and make sure he doesn't see your concern - he's healthy!! Focus on his smile and making those around him well aware of what alopecia is. Good luck!

I chose to not do anything, Nicky was barely a year old. His started with patches then to total body hair loss, and now back to AA. I did get him a wig, free through locks of love. He chose not to wear it, but he had it if he wanted it. He has had self esteem issues, I wish I had the perfect answer for you, but this site has helped us more then anything. I wish I had a found it before I did. good luck and I look forward to getting to know you and hayden.
