Isn't that a little harsh "Is pizza more important to you than your hair regrowth?" I'm sure to some degree diet effects us but I've been bald for 30 years and have tried many different diets without my hair being affected either way. Everyone rea...

Good for you! No matter what happens you will at least be comfortable with who you are and can accept what happened. Keep it up :D

About Me:
I've had alopecia for over 30 years! It took me a long time to reach this level of acceptance and it wasn't until just the last few years that I've begun to try and make a difference in the lives of other alopecians. I've started a support group in Guelph and area and am planning a camp for Canadian alopecians this summer. A story and poem I wrote was published in a book about overcoming alopecia as well. It only gets better from here!

Still rollin'

I have my travel plans for Alopeciapalooza set up now and I'm so pumped for my workshop! I have some more work to do to set everything up and all but it's all good! I also got this email this morning from my website and the Toronto group is in the works of setting up CANAAF (Canadian Alopecia Areata Foundation) and they'd like me to sit in on one of their meetings. I'm hoping they'll let me be as much a part of this as I can be because this is what I've been hoping for for quite some time. I wil… Continue

What's up?

Well I just held another support meeting and it went well. It was a small turnout but that was okay because someone new to the group needed some in-depth attention and all the right people were there for him - coincidentally. I'm going to go ahead with plans for an afternoon in the park on National Bald Out day which I will add to the events (soon I hope). Other than National Bald Out day and the camp, our group will be taking a break until September which is a bit of a shame because I've had so… Continue

Time flies when you're busy!

OK don't be mad, I haven't been neglecting you all, I has just been busy folks! My hours at work are picking up so even though I'm part-time, it's more like full-time in the summer but let's face it - no one really wants to build a deck in the winter! On top of that I am making sure I have everything planned out for the CAP conference which I will be doing a workshop at. My current problem is writing a short bio - writing a short anything about me is difficult. There was a point in my life when… Continue

Hi Carol,

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with organizing alopecian's in Canada. I enjoyed your video and especially your point about the expenses associated with alopecia not currently being covered by insurance companies.

I would like to know when this campout is as well if you could tell me I would appreciate it.

I would like to spend my time with other people with alopecia and people dealing with alopecia.

Hi Carol, where did you find all those bald animals? Do you collect them? I've had alopecia areata for 6 years, I went totally bald in a few weeks time. My hair returned, slowly. I hated my wig, and took it of after 1 year and 6 months. I think you look great as you are. For the dutch association I write stories and do all kinds of thing for our magazine. So... I' would like to ask your permission to publish some of your photographs (and your comment or a personal story) in next edition.
Have a nice day, greetings Inez.

Hi Carol! it's my pleasure! Thanks for your comment and your kind words! I read your blogs and I can tell you that I know what you're talking about perfectly, but I can tell you aswell that if you work hard enough to demonstrate your value, nobody can refuse the evidence, though it is true that there is a lot of discrimination out there. This human race is becoming so much superficial, empty and decadent, but I believe someday it'll change, Luckily there still are people like us who have principles and who believe in the equally for all the human kind. Hope you have a great weekend and to hear further from you! Hugs -S-
