- About Me:
- I've had alopecia nearly all my life. I had AA for the longest time and school was difficult. It turned to AT in grade 8 when I started wearing wigs until I finally went AU around 15 and lost my eyebrows and body hair. I stopped wearing wigs in my early 20's and have felt much better being able to live as myself. Wearing a wig makes me feel like I am not only lying to myself but everyone I encounter. Living without the wig has opened my eyes up to new experiences and ideas and has helped me reach a level of acceptance that I am happy with. I started a local support group for others with alopecia and wrote for a few books concerning alopecia as well as a magazine and was even lucky enough to be a guest speaker at CAP's conference this year. If you ever want someone to talk to or have any questions feel free to write! :)

Knowing when to walk away
Hope is a very powerful ingredient in one's life however so is a realistic point of view. I can hope that today will be a sunny day, I can hope that I'll find the greatest man on earth and I could certainly hope that my hair would come back BUT (and that's a big but) reality must come into play at some point here. Meditation and health
Last week I attended a meditation workshop. I've meditated for several years on my own accord and figured the workshop would teach me something new. First off we sat around and talked about stress and meditation, something I was already quite aware of.
