hello,
it's already difficult to find words to explain what i feel face to the alopecia of anthéa but IN ENGLISH, wouuuh!!
so anthéa began to lose her hairs two years ago. she never had lots of hairs and it was very curly (her dad is from ivory coast). at the beginning, her doctor thought it could be due to the separation of their parents. but she continued to lose her hairs, and her eye brows and eyelashes, but little by little. since, october 2007, she's bald (i hate this word and in french, even more? i never use it). when she was younger, she had eczema and allergies.
today, it's better. but she is often "enrhumée" (nose).
the doctors in Paris, in the hospital for children, have tried different treatments but there is no change. anthéa has a different treatment every six months. for the moment, she has two creams, one of this cream is Protopic, as miranda was talking about.
this is the medical side.
from the psychological side ( is " psychological " an english word?? lol), i'm scared. anthéa often asks me when her hairs grow up, and i can't anwer! she has a strong personnality so i think she could defend (?) herself if she'll meet stupid people. at school, the other kids know she has no hairs. but, in september, she will go to the elementary school and there will be many other kids who won't know. my son, alexis, 11 years old, won't be in this school anymore and couldn't protect her. however, as i said, she's really strong!
last thing for tonight: when she 's outside the house, she wears something to hide her head. she doesn't want people to see her without her hairs.
byee
