I'm getting married in 9 months and don't konw what to do about my makeup. I'm getting my hair done by the place that i get it from, but makeup is a diff story. I can't get past felling embarassed to have someone see me "naked" NO ONE has ever seen me w/o my eyebrows and at least thick eye liner on (not even my fiance). - I've had alopecia for 20yrs and i won't talk to anyone about it, its a very sensitive topic to me and usually cry when i have to talk about it. my boyfriend says i need to come to terms with it and stop trying to hide it. today at my hair place the woman told me that there are forums out there with people going through what i am and it might hepl me to talk to some poeple, so here i am :)

I'm getting married in 9 months and don't konw what to do about my makeup. I'm getting my hair done by the place that i get it from, but makeup is a diff story. Not sure if you have had your eyebrows tattoed or not.... i would just like to tell you... i had mine done exactly a year ago... and boy oh boy what a releif!!! make-up get;s done much much quicker now in the mornings, and i dont have to worry about them getting accidently rubbed off... I did however have them done at the same girl that had done two of my other greek friends's brows. I was very hesitant to go to someone without having seen their work. I was thinking of the eyeliner.... might decide it on a later stage... I have however found a formula for wearing false eyelashes top and bottom... and has given me the confidence i was lacking.
Congratulations on you wedding!!!! May life throw at you, only moments to make you laugh and smile for a lifetime!!!!!!!!

Cause from what I can see, he has your best interest at heart.
You have looks and why not take some baby steps, by first trying to take a picture of your head without a wig..then put it up here....we are all the same on this site.
You may find it Liberating and that's a beginning to acceptance of self!
It's just so hard to see you where I was in 1982 before I decided to go without my scarf.
If I can say anything in my ex's defence...that's the thing he helped me with, to..accept my hair loss.To go out in public!
