Stelara treatment for alopecia

I just saw my derm today for something other than my AU and of course our discussion lead into the alopecia realm. He discussed with me a new drug that is being used for the treatment if psoriasis called Stelara - has anyone heard of it and used it for AA, AT, or AU? I'm just beginning my research on it now and thought I would put it out there to all of you on Alopcecia World.

Single
About Me:
Hmm, a little about me… I live and work in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, an area referred to as the Mainline. I’ve had alopecia areata since I was about 10 yrs old and although I’ve dealt with it for years this time around has resulted in the most hair loss and has been the hardest to deal with. I have a great support system of family and friends, a career that I enjoy, and besides the AA I’m a happy and healthy single woman. I love staying physically active, anything from mountain biking to yoga – it’s all good. I’ve been trying to focus on and appreciate the small things in my life and to keep it all in perspective; if this is the worse thing that life hands to me than I’ve got it pretty good.

I got my first wig last weekend; my first visit I cried the entire time and when I went back I brought my parents and best friend. Having my support system there made a world of difference for me. Last night I had my friend shave my head, and my only regret is that we didn’t have fun with it. This was a big decision for me but I had come to a point that it was more depressing having patches of hair and seeing more fall out each day – I feel liberated and so happy with my decision, plus I look pretty good without hair!
