- I have had alopecia since I was 4 years old. I am now 30. I absolutely hate it! I have tried everything under the sun to fix it from creams, injections, essential oils, dietary changes, herbs.........a complete waste of time and money. My self esteem is almost always in the toilet. I don't really know what to do with my hair situation. I wore a wig for about a year and hated that, then kept it bald and wore nothing, but I don't really have the head for that, so I moved on to wearing a bandana but got tired of looking the same everyday. Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated. I have never know anyone with alopecia so haven't had anyone to relate to.
