- Registered Nurse 20+ years critical care nurse. Employed with the Dept of Corrections, I am a Case Manager for hospitalized inmates. I am mother of 4. daughter 34, son 30, daughter 22 and son 21. I have 2 grandsons 7y and 3y.I am married.
My alopecia began 21 years ago. first a patch about a quarter size.It grew back.A year later another spot different area, it grew back.Two years another one or two spots.I had the kenalog injections,hair grew back.In 2002 I lost the back of my head.it came back... then a spot here and there.It 2007 several patches,kenalog again.In December 2007 I had my hair weave The stylist burnt my scalp.The Alopecia returned. My physcian would not inject that large of an area.I tried my best to do "comb overs". Nothing seemed to work.I bought a wig.I asked my husband to shave my head. I felt that I was fighting a losing battle.In 2008 within months my eyelashes and etc were gone.

Sorry about "ME ME ME"

I feel I need to apologize for my "rant".
It was one of those days. One might call it a "feel sorry for yourself day" or my kids might say I was "wigging out".
You need to know I read these AW blogs and AW it all connects. I feel home. This is the first time people understand.The people here know what it like to put a face on in the morning, you know the stares, the impolite as well as the ones that are too too polite.

I am Donna. ALOPECIA ALL OVER. I am a Wife, Momma, Nonnie AKA Grandmother. I work as a Nurse.
I hate Alopecia. I hate waking up with no face. I hate having to put on a face everyday.
I have spent time researching wigs , who makes them, who bought what when.
I am self concious, I just found a great eyebrow tool I am so Happy about
You want to know anything askme please.
