Los Angeles Support Group

I recently contacted a lovely lady who is running the Alopecia Support Group and it appears that this group is not that active at this time. Are there many Los Angeles Alopecians who would like more information about this group. If so, friend me and I can put you in contact with this group. I know that the San Diego group really has established itself, but would like to raise awareness of the LA group. Thanks much. See More

Presidents proposed cuts to the National Institute of Health (NIH)

We can talk all day long about this condition, but until we start to call our legislators and tell them that these proposed cuts are unacceptable we are all going to be waiting a lot longer for the cure. The NIH is the agency that gets its money from the government and then doles it out to those that are conducting research for our condition as well as other Autoimmune diseases. This is the worst news we could ever hear. Please pick up your phone and call your local legislators office and tell…See More

About Me:
When my 22 year old daughter developed AU I really struggled to find her the best hair pieces possible. I found that salons for the type of wigs she wanted were in the thousands of dollars. I decided to do my research for over a year for human hair factories in China. I decided to go to China and found the best factory and met with the owner. My goal is to bring this knowledge to those who want to wear a wig. My passion is to help others to live a full and confident life. I would be glad to help anyone find the best human hair wig for medical hair loss at a price point that hopefully can work. These are all custom made and all hand tied units. Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey. All my best Lisa

Hey, Thanks for your reply. Currently I'm not living in the states but will very soon. I'm also a citizen in case that has anything to do with receiving help from Xelsource. My concern when I apply for the hardship program is getting stuck in the bureaucratic muck. Since a handful of folks have already been in the trenches I was hoping I could get the ins and outs to have a seamless and hassle-free experience. It's great to hear that the folks over at Xelsource are nice and helpful.

Hello and welcome!

I added you as a friend. Thanks for responding. Not too many do. I bought a human hair wig from China at XCSUNNYHAIR. It was inly $233 Elaine buys hers there and says they last a few months, but she bonds hers on and wears blond which does';t last as long. This is my first attempt with human hair and i am very nervous. I bought a full lace, non glue less wig. I dont plan to wear it daily, so maybe it will last longer.  I am tired of the synthetics, as they are not as thick as they used to be. I think Noriko changed fibers, definitely not as good as couple years ago.  Figure this is cheap foray into human hair. Will see I have had Alopecia for 39 years and its ruined a lot of my life. I live in AZ and the heat melts, ruins long synthetic wigs. The underneath gets so tangled up and no matter what i do for maintenence, constant struggle What do you use to keep long synthetics looking good?.
