Vancouver Alopecia Areata Support Group

Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)

Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.

If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Upcoming Meetups

This group gets together monthly at one of the members' homes - a cozy, positive, and fun environment, for those with alopecia. We are here to support one another, and every meetup has been amazingly mood-lifting.

Join us here and we'll send next meeting details to you in a group email!

You can always get a hold of us via AW messaging or at alopecia.vancouver[at]gmail.com

We are affiliated with CANAAF (Canadian Alopecia Areata Foundation).

Next meet up: We meet about once a month. Please email Tanya at the emil address above!

That time is fine. My kids have a big Heritage Day thing the next day (18th), and if I'm not fully prepared before I take off on Thursday, won't feel as relaxed as I need to be. I think I can make it work on the 17th as long as I have it all together. Whatever time works for everybody is fine with me.

I"m good with 7pm onwards, especial if it's no longer a dinner get-together but a snacking one! Thanks Chris :)

What works for you Deeann?

I can host pretty much any night but it would have to be from 7pm onward if that is OK with everyone - please let me know what works for everyone and we'll go from there!

Tea and nibbles it is!

Thanks for hosting Tanya. It was great to meet everybody, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon, and meeting those who weren't able to attend. Both dates are tough for me in November, but the 17th is better, as our Thanksgiving is the 24th. I'm all for the tea and cheese thing too. Hope to see you all soon.

And I vote for wine/tea and cheese/fruits!

Many of us are on special diets - gluten-free, organic, paleo, vegetarian, etc. Potluck was fun and the foods were all yum, but we all derailed from our diet a bit yesterday :)

I can't drink wine (anti-candida diet)....I can bring organic white tea and cheese/fruits!

Thurs 17th or Thurs 24th work for best for me. Or we could make the meeting for around 7 pm - I am in school until 6pm all other days.
