"I already realized I was going bald, and I never really got a formal diagnosis from a doctor as to why. From the beginning I decided that even if my natural hair was falling out I'd never let anyone see me as a bald girl. So at first I…"

I'm 41 and live in Washington State. I have had some form of alopecia for the past 34 years or so, but have been AU for the last 7 years. I have been married for 17 years, and have 2 children ages 9 and 13.
I'm currently working on a book about alopecia - including inspirational stories, information about challenges and choices we all make, and where you are in life because of your alopecia. It's multi-faceted.
I'm looking to hear from all of you and your stories, and what you've done to move from diagnosis to acceptance. If you'd like to be part of the process, please friend me here on AW.
