I finally lost all hair except a few strands, it came out soo fast. Anyways I am growing it all back once it fell out it all started to grow back, and its thicker than it ever was. I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before that there hair fell out only once and just grew back all together. I am hoping it was just a one time thing. See all my hair started falling out once I was on a blood thinner heparin, which a few months ago they had discovered it was contaminated in the time period I was taking it. I am hoping my body was just rejecting it in that way. Please give me any feedback it will be much appreciated.

Hi Laura - Yup I too lost pretty much all my hair and it is currently growing back. Late Oct 08 I started losing it and by Jan 09 it was basically gone. Now I only have a few patches at the back of my head. I had lost hair in random areas around my body and they have all returned too. I wasn't stressed, hadn't been doing anything different when I started losing it and really haven't changed my lifestyle since (other than shaving my head lol) so who knows what set it off and what made it come back. I have heard that if you're over 30 when you get your first run in with AA it may well be your only run in. Anyways good luck and not doubt you're a bit like me - glad it's back but not really trusting it will stay - the wait and see game continues. Keep us posted

Hi Laura,
Well I wish I could tell you that your hair will never fall out again and it was just the drugs but you just never know. I have been losing my hair and growing it back for 13 years now. In my early 20's I lost all the hair on the right side of my head(but not the left) I tried shaving it but because I get "patches" the bald look didn't go over to well- (I was using a hand razor every morning before work And it was too much work) Anyway long story short, every couple years I am blessed with a "full head o hair" and everytime I think maybe this is it, maybe it won't fall out again, but it does, inevitably--especially if I get stressed or drink too much or stop taking my vitamins. I guess the bottom line is take care of your body and the rest will follow, hair today gone tommarrow.

Hi Laura, I am with the others here... I would like to say it won't go away again, but with this ( crazy) diease you never can tell. Autoimmune disorders are unpredictable. During my second pregnancy@ 25 is when I developed AA;( 18 years ago now) Who knows what actually triggers it but the best thing to do is keep a good outlook, take your vitamins daily and try to live one day at a time. Hugs!

Me too - I lost almost all the hair on my head and legs, and both my eyelashes and eyebrows. Right now, my eyebrows and eyelashes are almost fully back. And, the hair on my head is almost fully back too!!! Just a few little spots left. Its really thick too! I have no idea if it is going to stick around or what its going to do, but for now...i've got regrowth!!!

Hey Girls!! I lost all my hair three years ago and it started to grow back about 6 months later and I got stressed about something and it all fell out again!! The first time I had been on Birth control(nuva ring) I was 35 and went thru a really hard break up where I did not eat for a couple months and then 4 months later all my hair fell out! Ok so I have been completly bald for 2 years since the second fall out! I am happy to report my hair is now ALL growing! I share all your concerns about it falling back out! Every day I wake up and wonder if it is going to be there!!! Well 2 months ago a met a women and we started talking about hormones! WOW!!! I bought some of her bio idenical hormones(progesterone! Super safe, super resonable!) I researched it before I got it! Anyway it has been 2 month s and so far so good! My hair is almost 2.5 inches(i started at .5 in january) No loss!! My mood is a million times better too!! So how many of you are hormonal??
So i am doing complete body detoxing too!!! So i am trying to figure this all out!! Let me know what you all have tried!! I have learned so much about being out of balance with our hormones!!It is actually scary what the doctors do not know !! So i love the products that i got and I am considering selling them especially since they are working! I have a friend shelly that I met because of alopecia and she is going to try it too!! I am anxious to see how she does! Her hair is growing back but kind of on hold! I will keep every one updated to her results!!!! I really think stress plays a big part in mine because it eats up vital hormones when we get stressed! Most of us have WAY too much Estrogen in our bodies and not enough progestrone!! Anyway I thought i would see what you all think!! there is nothing worse then being bald!!(well I am sure there are worse problems but it sure isn't fun!!)Talk to you all soon!! Glad to hear that your hair is growing back! I am going to post another thread about hormones to see what every one has tried!!
