"Xelsource is a financial aid program to get Xeljanz. You have to meet a certain criteria (income, no insurance, etc.)
It sounds like you have insurance and are appealing a denial which is different (and like my case). I have Horizon Blue…"
"Okay so I got some clarification from my insurance and from the state. Apparently, pre-authorization even overturned by an appeal still has a limited time that it's good for. In my case, it's only 6 months and then I have to go through the…"
It's been a few months since my last post. My AA had cleared up. About 4 months ago I reduced my Xeljanz to 1 pill. About 1 month ago I noticed a spot :(. So, I'm back on two, no shedding and I went to get that one spot injected.…"
"Everyone will tell you this diet or this for is good or bad for you. I mean, whatever works for you works for you.
I think logically, any doctor would stop once it's done it's job to see if it's needed."
Sorry for the late response. I was travelling for Thanksgiving.
I'm not AU but AA.
I started with Alopecia on my beard about 9 years ago. Then it progressed to scalp. Then it got really intense last November (instead of circles of…"
"Thanks! It's surreal that I have my hair back. However, I def know this could all go away at any time. I'm just thankful for *right now*. I'm also glad I reduced the medicine. I didn't like the idea of taking an…"
"Update: 1 year
So, I can't believe it's been about 1 year since I started Xeljanz
My insurance has been paying and Walgreens Specialty pharmacy delivers it like overnight!
I have full regrowth on my scalp.
Full regrowth on…"
"With food but i don't think it makes a difference, really. I also drink alcohol. I know you're not supposed to but I'm a social person and go to bars, parties, etc. I usually have anywhere from 2-4 glasses of wine per week."
I started on the standard dose of 2 pills per day.
I never went above that. I started to respond rather quickly in about 5-6 weeks.
My doctor is the one that suggests that if by December all is good then to drop to 1 pill per day."
I haven't experienced any exhaustion no more than usual. I feel these days, everyone is exhausted, lol.
I'm really good about getting 8 hours of sleep (at least Monday-Thursday) and I exercise every morning. I don't…"
I have read your comments and i think I have very similar symptoms as you. I have had alopecia since I was 10 yeas old (now I'm 24) but from 14 years old to 18 years old, I recovered the totality of my body hair. Now I'm struggling with my scalp hair, eyebrows, beard, arms and some other random parts in my body. I have maybe 65% of my scalp hair, 35% eyebrows, 50% beard, no arm's hair, and 90% of hair in my legs. It has always been an obsession of mine the loss of my eyebrows. Very much more than the loss of hair in other parts of my body. I will be traveling in a couple of months to meet with Dr. King who prescribes Xeljanz. I want to ask you some questions if its ok with you.
