I have hayfever/spring allergies. My allergies flair up in April and last to the end of June. I don't have allergies to cats or dogs, or mold. I have had this problem since I was 5. Hope this finds all of you well.

Hi everyone its' been awhile since anyone has posted. How are you all doing with the weather, etc. If there is anyone here that is Celiac like myself just wondering if you know that there is a Celiac conference in June in Seattle? If anyone whould like more information about the conference or to make plans to attend together let me know.

I am allergic to a very long list of foods... I believe this is what is causing my hair loss. I am now extremely careful with what I eat. I have been increasing frustrated with the medical community who refuses to link health and diet together. I do know that we live in a very toxic world, and I believe that many of us here our very sensitive to these things. The connection is obvious to me and I have begun my research so that one day I can help change the way we treat our earth and ulitmately our bodies

Hey everyone! I'm allergic to dander, pollen, mold, dust, most fruits, and soy products. I also have highly sensitive skin, which can be annoying at times.
I frequently wonder if my allergies and asthma in conjunction with taking medication all of my life has contributed to my female pattern baldness.

Hi Angela, I had allergy shots on a weekly basis starting at age 13 until I was 18. They did help with the allergies. I had no immediate side effects but someone once told me that the shots made be prone to alopecia. The doc's disagree with that. They say that the allergies may be an indicative of a tendency to develop alopecia. This was always confusing. All I know is that I have to use very expensive eyedrops all the time now because my eyelashes have thinned and my allergy eyes are driving me crasy.

my daughter rachel is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, sesame seeds and mustard. she is starting to be able to eat some products that contain eggs, though she still can't eat an egg breakfast like scrambled eggs. i believe that once you have an auto-immune condition, your wacky immune system can unleash anything....so, yes, they have to be connected. rachel was kind enough to give a ton of blood to the alopecia registry at md anderson when we were at the naaf convention. hopefully, the research will turn up something useful someday! btw, i think having lived with allergies her whole life has made her tough enough to handle alopecia. she is amazing!!!!!!!

Sorry to see, but also comforted to see that I am not the only one with so many allergies. I was told by the doc man years ago that as I was exposed to new things, I would develop allergies to them.

Has anyone tried the allergy shots?

I did, but had to discontinue them as they kept causing breathing problems, never really made any progress.

Angela, I suffer with so many allergies and new ones just keep popping up. It sucks. I don't even know if I could name them ALL off. Definately a long list. I heard it's related somehow... weird. Good group by the way =)
