I haven't been back to the derm. I got 2 rounds of injections in my 2nd spot, which is on the back of my head, and was putting the cream on daily, but then I got sick of it.

Both times I went to the derm it's not covered with my insurance, so I had to pay $115 bucks each time. Then I ran out of the cream sample she gave me, and just never went to fill the script.

It's growing, which I suppose is good, but I feel like I gave it a good enough head start, and I'm sick of thinking about it. It's only cream once a day but it was annoying me...something else I had to do. Hahaha

So I am taking these really huge prenatal vitmains from the doctor, who a few days ago did an ultrasound to confirm that I am 7 weeks pregnant, due on November 16th. You could see the little heartbeat flickering on the screen...it was wild! I still don't really "feel pregnant" (whatever that means)...except I am really super tired all the time.....but I'm sure soon my jeans won't fit and then I'll be eating my words! The doc said the vitamins and all the pregnancy hormones would help with my hair and what not.

So that's it. Just adjusting to all these new things!!

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes! This baby is kindof a surprise, so we are taking it day by day!

Aimee,

I don't know what the AA was....stress-induced seems to be the theory. I was graduating from nursing school, starting a new job, studying for my boards, and getting married all in 3 months...which is when I got the 1st spot...the 2nd one was a few months later. The 1st is long...like 6 inches...and the 2nd is like yours..sprouting some thin blond hairs and also some dark ones.

Both of my spots got bigger as well....if you check out my pics you can see how they started and how they ended up. It's strange!!

Yes, the horomones are making my hair grow really fast right now...my husband says he can tell almost DAILY that it's longer...weird!! He's the inspector because I can't see back there!!

Hi Amy,

Congrats on the pregnancy. I hope it all goes well.

I wouldn't worry too much about applying the steriod creams religiously or at all - definitely don't lose any sleep over it! I'm one of the people who believes that it comes back if it wants to and that's just it. When I got my first spots, they grew back in, sometimes quickly and sometimes slowly, without any steriods. Apparently it is a very good sign that you won't go on to develop AT or AU if you have experienced regrowth in the past and you're only getting the hair loss on your head! S
