Hi Debbie -

Im no stranger to shedding and regrowths.

Each time I get that white colorless hair in certain areas that seem to take forever to go past that initial "Hey Im here !! " length .

When its ready ... those areas seem to sprout up pretty quickly and obtain color too !

The fallout process , the regrowth time frames are different every time.

Get a little excited though .... what the hell right ?

-Keep smilin

I have been living with alopecia for 15 years and this seems to be a trend (at least with me). It grows white, lasts for a while then falls off. I currently have one long white hair and am completely bald everywhere else. Every time my four year old daughter sees it she says "mommy, time for a haircut." Just remember that with or without hair, you are beautiful.

I'm having my first ever scalp regrowth since losing my hair 3 1/2 years ago. It's completely white, very patchy, and very slow growing. Here's a photo from the end of June:

I gave it about 6 months, then just shaved it off last weekend when I got tired of just having small islands of white fuzz. It's encouraging to hear that it sometimes turns into real hair that grows and fills in, even if it's white.

I am, however, enjoying the reappearance of my eyebrows and lashes - as dark brown as before. I'm sure they won't last, but it's nice to have them for awhile. Why should they come in colored and all the scalp hair white? What a crazy thing AA is!

Just as a heads up when that first started happening to me, the doctor prescribed me something called Retinol A. The idea is that it irritates the skin thus opening the pores and helping the hair grow. It worked for a while (for me at least). You may want to try this.
