Many of us aspire to be more like our wonderful AW role model, Crowned Regal. Last night I tried a little bit of "royalty" on my head - I wore some glue-on head jewels for the first time. I bought a kit online last year from a company that supports women with hair loss due to cancer, called "Crown Jewels", but I hadn't found the right moment to try the look.

For my first attempt at head decoration, I chose all-red jewels and wore them to a Valentine's Day folk dance party. I made a simple tiara-type pattern, with my husband's assistance getting them where I wanted. I was very happy that they stayed on even after my head got sweaty - the instructions had said they might come off with perspiration. They came off easily when I got home, and the glue washed right off. The reaction at dancing was great!

I've posted a photo from last night on my page. I think I'm going to try more designs, with more colors and more jewels...maybe run a line down my neck. Has anyone else tried head jewels? What do you think of the look? Let's share designs!

Mary, you look beautiful!!
The henna tattoos might be fun too. They don't come off when you perspire.

Yes, Lily...I've thought about henna tattoos. Also about washable markers and temporary tattoos. I admire all the women on AW who've had permanent head tattoos done, but at this point I'm afraid to do anything like that. I'll get there eventually. ( ;-)

Very creative and nice Mary. I think I may try it. I once wore prayer beads like a crown and people thought it was real exotic. The creative possibilities of adornning our crown are endless and exciting to discover! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Marjorie. Exactly the idea - I was inspired by Carol's use of necklaces as head adornment...here's one of her photos:
