Sunday was an ideal day, the weather forecast was good and so we got up early and set off for the beach in Wales. We go to a beach between Barmouth and the Clynn Peninsular so it’s about a two and a half hour drive away from Warrington. We break the journey up with a coffee stop at Bala which is always a good place to break the journey. We always use the same coffee shop as the coffee is excellent and the coffee shop itself is an interesting place to visit. It is an old chapel converted into a gift shop with an area set aside for refreshments and it sells lots of interesting items many of which are crafted by local people.

We arrived at the beach late morning and the weather was excellent. There was a warm breeze blowing in from the sea as we walked along the shore to the area where we were going set camp. Already there were quite a lot of people enjoying the sunny day and so we set up our wind break and took our place lying in the sun.

One of the great things about having Alopecia Universalise is that it is so easy to apply sun tan cream. When I had lots of body hair it was a real bind applying the lotion .I also used far more of it than I do now as the hair soaked up so much of the cream.

We spent the day lying in the sun, having a swim every now and then and taking the occasional walk along the beach chatting every now and then to other people we came across. We also had a first rate picnic courtesy of my wife who had packed an excellent lunch. The smoked haddock pate was superb.

At about 4.30 we took our last swim of the day and then stretched out in the sun to dry off before heading home. As we started to pack up our things we noticed that a lot of people had left the beach already. It is never too crowded at this beach and there is never any one sat right next to you so you don’t always notice that people are leaving. As we walked back to our car though, we marvelled at the beauty of this delightful part of the Welsh coastline. It was a great day out and well worth the long drive.
