I was just wondering how many people with alopecia areata have had there hair colored? Would like to have my hair colored to cover the gray, but I am afraid it might cause more hair loss. Would appreciate any imput! THANK YOU!

Has anyone heard of dental infection causing alopecia areata? Any info. would help!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with estrogen problems along with alopecia areata? Went to the clinic last week to have my thyroid checked along with other blood tests. Got the results today..all blood work good but found out I have NO estrogen my level was zero. Just wondering if that could be the cause of my hair falling out?

Has any one gotten kenalog shots in the scalp for alopecia areata? If so did you notice MORE spots after getting the shots? I got the shots about 2 weeks ago and now I have 2 new spots

Just wondering if anyone with alopecia areata has had any trouble with thyroid and or adrenal glands? I am curious if any one has colored their hair and found that to be a trigger for alopecia areata (Or made alopecia worse) Beautician colored my hair in Dec. and a few days later my hair started to fall out in 2 new spots. Just wondering if anyone else has had more hair loss after kenalog injection. Had injection done last Thursday. Now I have more hair falling out of the spot then I did before, and allot of scalp pain.

Wanted to know if anyone has used Men's Rogaine extra strenght. Went to the derm. and was told to use Betamethasone Lotion twice a day, and Rogain. Bought a box, and I would say it is not cheap.Wondering why the label says NOT for use by women.Sure hope that the derm. know what she is talking about! Would appreciate any comments.

Been looking at different wigs on the internet. Can any one offer me any advise as to what kind of wig to buy. Have 4 bald spots and just want to cover them with a wig, when I go to work. I do not know the diference between synthetic and monofilament. Can not spend a thousand dollars...but would like the wig to look natural. Would appreciate any imput. Thank You

Just got home from work...noticed my hair seemed thinner in the back. Sure as shit 2 more bald spots. Now I have 2 on the top side and 2 more in the back. Hard enough to cover up the first 2. Is this ever going to end! Now I have gray color roots ( because I am afraid to color my hair ) and 4 bald spots! Life sure does suck!

Just want to give you all a update...Went back to see the dermatologist. Located in Madison Wisconsin, supposedly the best we have in Wisconsin. 2 residents came in to see me before the doctor came in. The dermatologist was in and out in less then 5 mins. I told her that the 2 bald patches have gotten bigger and I have pain and itching, also the patches that she had injected 6 weeks ago now have sunk in and still no hair growth! Hi , my name is Katie and I am new to this site. I hope someone can help me deal with alopecia areata. I had one spot in November, the hair grew back. Now I have 2 spots the size of a half dollar. The dermatologist injected the spots about 5 weeks ago, hair continues to keep falling out of the same spots. Will go back to the dermatologist next Monday.
