- I am a 28 year old living and working in Dunedin.
I have been having problems with hairloss for the past year and a half.
I have been diagnosed with Androgenetic Alopecia or CTE although I don't quite know for sure. I do know it is geting worse not better.
It has majorly impacted on my life in all aspects and I am finding it difficult to cope, which is why I joined this site. It is extremely comforting to know I am not the only person facing these issues and it is so helpful to talk to people who understand.
I am currently in the position of trying to find a wig as am finding it very difficult to continue my normal day feeling like this. The transition period is difficult and learning how to cope with this is something new to me.
I am usually a very outgoing , fun and happy person and I really need to find that in me again and with the help of this site I am hoping I will!!!

I enjoy being around family and friends and want to travel. I love burlesque and want to try aerial silks :)

Hey, hope you're well. Like your mum, mine also doesn't think I should wear a wig...she says she can't see much difference but I find that hard to believe! Yesterday I booked a holiday and now I think I am finally realising that I will have to deal with wigs/scarves/hats sometime soon...by August I will have shaved for sure. Very worried about how to manage this situation while travelling around and staying in hostels or camping!I'll have to improvise! How are you doing? :)

- Hey jennah great to hear from you. I didn't get my eyebrows done I have to wait till I'm a little older, my mom forgot about that. That awesome new wig I would love to see a picture. We have also had good weather here. Mostly in the late 70s early 80s nice and sunny and breezy. But of course I don't know a lot about the weather outside because I'm trapped in school all day..hahahahah!!:)

Hey Jennah, I am going to buy my first wig soon...have been putting it off for so long but I am finding it increasingly difficult to do anything with this thin hair! Its a big step and my friends still don't know about it so not sure how to approach the topic. I was actually thinking of shaving it off in secret and just turning up in a wig one day! I guess I keep hoping that it will get better but after three years of thinking this I think I just need to take action now! Have a nice weekend :)
