Mine is since April and I really do understand what you are feeling! What really made me understand that it is OKAY to feel loss is when I told my sister in law and she said,  "it is hard I am sure because our hair kind of defines us."  It was an aha moment for me and from that point forward I let myself feel sad about the changes to my looks. I have lost most of mine from the bottom up but huge bald spots on the top as well. I still have just enough left on top to fall down over the sides but if I am swimming at the beach or there is any breeze, I have a hat on. For me it is not at all about how it looks anymore, it is more that I don't want people looking at me and thinking, poor girl must be going through chemo. I am lucky and healthy otherwise so I leave that sadness to the people who really do have life threatening issues. As I mentioned before, I am 65 so it is not an issue as it is for you younger friends. I did the Cloberasol liquid and only made it two weeks and stopped due to side effects. I choose not to do any other treatments but did start taking Biotin, Selenium and "B" complex. I also researched on Google and found a new shampoo and conditioner from www.dslaboratories.com called  Revitacor. I am NOT recommending this product but just passing information. I have only used it a week. I can say as far as your child, it may be a great teaching moment for her, that we are all unique but the same, and should be treated with kindness. Be gentle with yourself as you adjust. People who say things to you that dumbfound you just really don't know what to say so forgive them. They just don't understand. I know over time I have said things to people that I realized were the wrong words even though they were meant well. I am here any time to listen and give ideas if you want or need someone. I see my Dermatologist again on Monday so I will update then. Remember, you are NOT alone. Look for a group in your area!
