Hi Rosie. Did u email the person that u worked with from fw? My daughter got hers in august and was having air bubble issues (which r apparently normal)and lifting by the ears. She hasn't brought it up lately but I did let our IA know. We took pictures of the lifting area and sent them to her. The manager at freedom told her to have us send it back. We have not done so because she doesn't want to part with it at this point. If you haven't already I would email your fw rep. There is a one yr warranty . I think Freedom really does aim to keep their clients happy so don't hesitate to let them know what's going on.

Mine is going back to have the color fixed. I honestly have no luck getting the thing on. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I have had the wig on correctly. It ususally takes me 10 attempts. I have no idea what I am doing wrong but I do find it frustrating as well....

Yes absolutely Freedom reps do go above and beyond to keep their clients happy. When I was super depressed about how my cut and color turned out Debbie offered to take the wig back and change the color and no charge to me.... It really is an amazing product and company.

I just got to fix my cut somehow and figure how to put the thing on correctly as well.

ME TOO!!

I am having a terrible time, and I about want to punch the blond in video that says it's "very easy" to put on. It is NOT!! I have been trying and trying for almost two months and presumably am still not getting it right.

I do love how the wig looks, so every day I endure the squeezing on my head and the buckling and pinching on my neck when I move my head, but that certainly wasn't what I was hoping for when I emptied our savings account to purchase it.

I've watched the video multiple times, try 3-4 times a day to put the thing on, and have read and re-read all the advice I can find on-line. I'm not sure if you need to take a college course, or just be blessed with a special gift from God or what, but it shouldn't be this difficult.

Will I get it right after another month? Another three months? Another year? Who knows??

Can you tell I'm frustrated?!?

Hi I know that you are going to see your Independent Agent. This will be worked out.  I have seen the piccies of you in your Freedom Hair...very cute.

I find this happens for me when my head just a bit hot then i have to take off and wipe out with a anti bac wet wipe. then it's good to go. as for fit it will take some time to figure that out. but don't force it down. take it off and try again. try giving it a litte spray with a watter bottle that sometimes gets it to slide into place more easy. good luck

Hi Rosie,
You said it loosens up during the day & the nape area creeps up - I've experienced the same. What I've done is 1. make sure the metal stays at eartabs are "rounded in", 2. make sure you're not placing it too far back. When it's too far back on the head it will cause "lifting" & the nape will creep up.
I've worn vacuum wigs for over 25+ yrs. & these tips have worked for me.

Thanks everyone. I have had better luck lately. I think I was putting it too far back. also spraying a bit of water before I put it on has made it easier. It's still hard to get it right the first time and somedays I just can't seem to get it on right but overall I think it is an amazing wig :)

Hi Norelle

I think this sometimes happens with a few people when they first get a freedom wig.  It is a very different fit to any other wig available and very accurate.  What I have found over the years of helping people into their Freedom Hair is the want to create a feeling of tightness with their FW.  The reality is an FW does not feel tight, but it is very secure.  To create the tightness that people think is appropriate they tend to put their wig just a little too far forward on their forehead....this creates a bubble on their crown....and over the day the fw will lift and go back into the shape it was made (to fit your head very accurately).  Usually the Independent Agents will make a visit and sort these issues out very quickly....that's why everyone on this thread is probably doing fine. :)

Wow, I am so glad you posted this! I waited a few months because I wanted to give a thorough reply, and then time got away from me ... then every time I thought of writing, I had so much to say that I put it off.

So finally I am responding, thanks to you!

Anyway, of course Rose was right. I went to my IA and got it figured out. The main problem was that I was so afraid of damaging the piece that I was not pressing down enough and getting the air bubbles out of it and getting it into place just right.

I just back from Disney World last week and it was great to go on the roller coasters and water slides like a "normal person."

Interestingly, the biggest challenge has been learning how to take care of the hair. Sadly, it had been years since I had "real" hair that didn't have bald spots, wasn't thinning, or wasn't super-short, and I sort of forgot how I used to take care of my hair. Also, this hair is a slightly different texture from what my biological hair was. For example, years ago I used to french braid my hair all the time, but I can never get this hair to hold a braid unfortunately.

The only bummer is that I know I'm going to have to order another one fairly soon, and I can't imagine how we will come up with the money. I also feel a little guilty. I hate the idea of having to tell my kids that they can't go to college because I spent all the money on hair. But of course, that is my disease's fault, not Freedom's. It's expensive all-around to have a disease.

Hi Jenny, I'm glad the FW worked out in the end, but I know they are almost-prohibitively expensive. I've had a lot of luck ordering very secure hair systems, which I bond, from HairDirect.com. They are not terribly expensive; you may want to look into it.
