Following from the success of the camp BeBold willDurham-Marriott-Conference be hosting their inaugural alopecia conference in the UK. Aimed at helping adults come to terms with the management of alopecia the conference will provide you with all the information you need in respect to the latest medical research and updates to better understand and manage alopecia.

The conference will be held at the Marriott Royal County Hotel in Durham on the 13th October 2012.

Full of history and regal charm, yet with every modern facility, the Durham Marriott Hotel Royal County is situated within walking distance of Durham’s key attractions, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral and Castle. After a day exploring the city, relax in the hotel's Leisure Club. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, a gym with cardiovascular equipment and free weights, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, sanarium and a relaxing riverside area with loungers.

Quite simply Durham is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK and do not just take our word for it. When it comes to tourist destinations it is hard to beat this one. There is both a castle and cathedral both globally renowned for their joint world heritage status. The internationally acclaimed travel critic Bill Bryson is quoted as saying "I unhesitatingly gave Durham my vote for best cathedral on planet Earth!".

The conference will be available for booking January 2012 please keep visiting BeBold for further details.

Hi all. Haven't been on this site for quite a while.
Having seen Kathryn's comment about the AUK meet in London I should also tell you that there's a meet in Edinburgh on 10th December. Backed by AASC but organised by me. Anybody interested in coming along for a coffee and a blether should get in touch.

Hi Tom

Welcome to alopecia world and the UK group.

There are a few organisations in the Uk who you could contact to catch up with people. 'alopecia online' (AUK), Be bold, Alopecia Areata Support Community (AASC) - also in Scotland. Do a search and I'm sure you will find people to contact in your area.

Nice to meet you and hope all is well.

Hi. I'm new to this site. Over the past 18 months to 2 years I've lost all my hair including eyebrows, eyelashes, legs and arms. I don't know anyone else with alopecia and would like to meet people who have had a similar experience.
