Hello ladies! I am a hair replacement speacialist and have lots of women, teens and children that we service with traction alopecia. I have it due to braids and sew ins. i wear the invisible lace hair systems the are great. I can wear with or without adhesive

Hey ... I just joined alopecia world today . I have had traction alopecia since I was 15 years old. I'm glad I have a place to talk with others with my issue :)

I am new to Alopecia World and to Alopecia itself. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata on May 12th 2009. The doc said that along with AA I also have Traction Alopecia from pulling my hair up in a pony tail for so many years, day in and day out. I was told once that if I pulled my hair into a pony tail that it would grow faster but I am finding out now that it is just the opposite. What a weird thing to get, but I guess after all it makes sense.

Hi am very happy that this type of alopecia has been given a mention here. Not a lot of people are aware of traction alopecia.
As my children are of african/scottish origin this is dear to my heart and will write my feelings on this conditon shortly.
