Hi. I'm from the Cleveland area, and was wondering if anyone met around there? I was looking for a support group and the only thing I could come across was something out in Akron/Canton.

Hey guys, i'm new here. I dont have alopecia, my daughter does and I'm just trying to show her that she isn't alone. I know it is a very hard in todays society where the media demands we conform to the various boundries set by them. So please invite our friend request us. I am doin this all on my phone... Alopecia Areata and the "Bald" woman! The reaction to this autoimmune disease in different settings/scenerios.!
Alopecia Areata is a VERY Emotional and Devasting disease!
In today's society, men are still acceptable to be "BALD", but women on the other hand get the looks,stares,the finger pointing OR the mistaken identity for having CANCER.
Our hair does not grow back, IF it does it usually ends up falling back out again.
We ARE victims of our H A I R...and NEED public AWARENESS to this disease and a CURE!!
STILL not sure-ask your wife, girlfriend. sister,mom,grandma, or any female you know, how she(they) would feel with having this condition!!

Cindy-yes I did receive that flyer...I am forming a group for the Northeast Ohio area,reaching CLeveland/Medina and all the way out past Orrville Ohio..it will b a 20 minute drive from any location!
Unless someone wants to drive further for some fun group times!
I still would like you to reconsider about the 2 groups getting together and cranking out some awesome fundraisers tho...

MAN, got to love this Ohio weather-today rainy,cold and no sun here today in the Wads area--BRR..when I get more time I will upload some awesome photos for everyone to see!

Hi Margie - Did you get a flyer in the mail about our support group meeting on Mon Nov 14th in Akron? Hope you can come, haven't seen you in awhile.
I don't know of other support groups in Ohio. I run the Canton/Akron Support Group. There used to one in Cincy and Columbus, but they stopped having them.

I am in the Wadsworth Ohio area.
I have had AA for 1 year and 4 months now.
It will be great to talk with other Ohio people about Alopecia.
