Nice to hear from you, Linda! YOU are part of the reason that The National Bald Out exists. On February 4, 2009, I posted the first mention of my idea of a national "take it off" day on the Sisterhood of Women Who Shaved group that you started.

On April 11, I posted my full concept and the first use of the name "National Bald Out" on the Sisterhood. Then, everyone discussed it on the Sisterhood group until I created this NBO Group on April 29.

Sisterhood members were a big help, and provided the photos I used at the end of my "Announcing the National Bald Out!" video on YouTube. It's all there in the Sisterhood posts if anyone wants to take a trip down memory lane!

July is going to be a great month to celebrate our baldness and freedom of choice to be uncovered. Besides the NBO Day, Thea of Bald Girls Do Lunch has created July as International Women With Alopecia Month.

Start thinking about public awareness events where you live - ways we can be OUT there on Saturday, July 17. Let's add a bunch of new locations this year. As I did in 2009, after NBO 2010, I'll create a YouTube video/slide show of your photos from all over the place!

Just dropping by to say, I miss you all and I am looking forward to NBO 2010! What a difference this has made in so many lives, a national day to say "hey, it's okay to be bald!" Not that most of us didn't already know that, but it's great to celebrate our baldness with the support of so many friends here on alopeciaworld!

If anyone has any photos that they would like me to include in the YouTube video/slide show about the 2009 National Bald Out that I'm working on, please let me know. If you had an "individual" observance of the Day, just going out bald somewhere and have a photo, that would be great, too.
